SILENT HEROISM: JARYNA AND TOMÁŠ – STORIES FROM THE SECOND WORLD WAR

The permanent exhibition "Silent Heroism" is an interactive display through which visitors will embark on a journey into the history of the 20th century. However, they will not just listen to the stories of witnesses who experienced totalitarian regimes firsthand – they will actively engage in exploring memories and will be able to influence and shape the adventure using a tablet. They will be assisted not only by unconventional projections but also by visual and sound effects, interactive screens, and augmented reality.

New edition

Visitors can choose from two epochs. During one visit, they will experience the story of one of the witnesses. The exhibition can be visited four times, and each time visitors will leave with a different experience. The stories of these four heroes were selected from more than ten thousand interviews from the Memory of the Nation collection, and they share one thing in common: all selflessly helped others with their brave actions, despite often risking their own safety. The inspirational life stories of Jaryna and Tomáš confirm that not every hero is taught about in history classes.

For the exhibition, stories were selected from more than ten thousand interviews from the Memory of the Nation collection, and they share one thing in common: both selflessly helped others with their brave actions, despite often risking their own safety. They wanted to ease the lives of those who lived in the difficult times of World War II. The tour will introduce participants to the story of Jaryna, who saved dozens of Jews from being transported due to a toxic chemical compound. Tomáš Sedláček will take visitors through his extraordinary journey across European World War II battlefields.

HANA VAGNEROVÁ: WE HAVE THE ALCOHOL THRESHOLD UNNECESSARILY HIGH

Is the human body really designed to function best with half a per mille of alcohol in the blood? This question lies at the heart of the new Czech film "Pod parou," which is an adaptation of the famous Danish film "Another Round" from 2020. The key difference? The group of men is replaced by a bunch of high school teachers, and the setting moves from Copenhagen to sun-drenched Mikulov.
