SIR HOTELS WILL OPEN THE FIRST CZECH BRANCH SIR PRAGUE

The Amsterdam hotel chain Sir Hotels proudly announces the opening of Sir Prague, the first branch of this brand in the Czech Republic, which will take place on March 17. The hotel is located in the vibrant Prague district of New Town, near the famous Dancing House and the Vltava River. Spread over five floors of a historic building on Náplavní Street, it will offer its future guests accommodation in 76 rooms.

The accommodation complex will include a stylish bar, a boutique gym, and atypical apartments in the tower, designed for discerning clientele. Part of its leisure zone will also be a multifunctional library, which will provide space for meetings and relaxation, while the cozy courtyard of the building will offer a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the big city. From this spring, it will also include the first restaurant from the Seven North family in the Czech Republic. This unique concept, originally from Vienna, has already earned several awards for its culinary innovation.

The hotel is located in a historic building from 1884, whose original neo-Renaissance elements, such as the ornate façade, have been preserved during a sensitive reconstruction. Every element of the interior design of the Sir Prague hotel, created by the award-winning British designer Linda Boronkay, cleverly reflects the symbolism of significant milestones in Prague's culture and history.

Her design draws inspiration from the Gothic and Cubist heritage of the city and highlights traditional Baroque stonework, artistic processing, and graceful patterns. Boronkay, known for her art of imprinting the stories of places into her designs, worked holistically with the traditions of the city. She incorporated professional knowledge of stone and metal processing, as well as bold graceful patterns reflecting the aesthetic spirit of Prague. Each room is equipped with handcrafted bed heads and carefully selected furniture, often created by local artisans and artists. Throughout the hotel, you will find Czech vintage pieces and playful details ensuring an authentic and unforgettable experience for every guest.

The Sir Prague hotel is located in the very heart of New Town, offering its guests the possibility of easy access to several of Prague's most famous landmarks. The National Theatre, Charles Bridge, the head of Franz Kafka, and the Prague Astronomical Clock are just a short walk away, making the hotel an ideal place for both leisure and business travelers. In addition to the cultural genius loci, this area is known for its cafés, boutiques, and the popular riverside promenade Náplavka.

The opening of the Sir Prague hotel represents a significant milestone for the Sir Hotels brand in its expansion into key cultural cities in Europe. The brand, which guests have come to love for its distinctive design, personal approach, and ability to reflect the essence of a place in each destination, will soon welcome its first guests in Prague. Christine Vespermann, the director of the Sir Prague hotel, shared her enthusiasm for the hotel's opening: „Prague is a city with a soul that you won't find anywhere else, and we couldn't be more excited to become part of its dynamic hotel scene. With its historical prestige and cosmopolitan energy, it is the perfect place for the Sir Hotels brand, which focuses on creating meaningful and unforgettable experiences. We look forward to welcoming our first guests to a space that beautifully connects the rich traditions of the capital with modern luxury.“

The Golden Cross delicacies have been part of the Prague gastro scene for over a hundred years. Since 1916, Alois Zoufalý has been attracting visitors with luxurious sandwiches featuring lobster and champagne. Later, a different era came – generations of Prague residents still remember the ham sandwich on salad, 150 grams of Russian salad with a roll, or traditional pastries. However, gradually the Golden Cross lost its luster, and when it finally closed in 2024, the media wrote about the end of an era.
