Pop-up café, gastro extravaganza, lectures, and the reopened water tower. The celebrations of Holešovice Market start next week, and visitors can expect a rich program.

The Holešovice Market is like a living organism that has been breathing with Prague for over a century. A place where raw history meets pulsating modernity. Former slaughterhouses, an animal market, and a vegetable paradise – today a scene for culture, food, and community, celebrating 130 years since its establishment this year. From April 24 to May 14, a series of events will take place here, uniquely connecting the most interesting aspects of the past and present. Expect experiences that will surprise, delight, and inspire you. Time for the gastro performance BEEF, the aroma of old recipes, and futuristic flavors. Time for an open pop-up café with a reading room and an authentic menu. Time for concerts that will animate Hall 17, and an exhibition that will take you on a journey through time to the very top of the water tower.

The menu by chef Láďa Vaníček from the Mlýnec restaurant is like a liturgy on a plate – from “Host” to “Purification.” The evening will be guided by the high priest as performed by actor Kryštof Bartoš. Pastrami Pop Up 3: When Great Food Meets Culture

The Holešovice market will transform next Thursday into a center of New York street food with a dozen vendors as part of the traditional Pastrami Pop Up event, ensuring a great atmosphere where the renowned pastrami sandwiches will take center stage in many forms. And because a proper street food experience doesn’t end with food, visitors can also look forward to a cultural program. Besides food, they will enjoy music, visual arts, and cultural performances. The event will feature DJ Tea Jay Ivo and DJ Gadjo, who will provide the musical backdrop. Artist Jakub Bachorík, whose witty drawings of sandwiches have accompanied Pastrami Pop Up from the very beginning, will paint original illustrations among the visitors. The evening will feature an improvisational theater performance Just! Impro in Hall 17. Admission to this cultural part is 190 CZK. The Pastrami Pop Up event starts on April 24 at 11 AM and is free until 10 PM.

“Pastrami Pop Up is more than just a food festival for us. It is a place where a community meets that shares a passion for great food, creativity, and can appreciate the work that goes into it. We have great vendors who apply every year, and more are joining us, which makes me very happy. And the beautiful thing is how it all works in mutual synergy. I believe that is why people return to us and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere here,” says Aleš Víšek from the programming department of the Holešovice market and the author of the Pop Up concept.

Pastrami Pop Up / Thursday, April 24, 2025 / 11 AM – 10 PM / Free entry
