The Midsummer Tunes Festival remains true to its original idea. “We are not just focused on putting together a diverse music program. We want to provide people with a comprehensive experience that they will not forget,” says the main organizer Jaroslav Friš. “We are collaborating with the Celts, who are preparing an even richer program for adults and children this year. We also carefully select other program points, which include various lectures, workshops, or crafts. The theme of the solstice is an ideal connecting element for us, as it provides many opportunities to pass on something from our history through traditions, and it has also been a great celebration since prehistoric times, so why not approach it in a more modern style?”
Main star: the fiddle magicians Blazin’ Fiddles
This year’s edition of Midsummer Tunes will welcome a significant foreign guest – Blazin’ Fiddles from Scotland. One of the most recognized and beloved bands from the local music scene will captivate the audience with the mastery of three violin virtuosos accompanied by energetic piano and guitar. In addition to them, Irish Rose (Slovakia) and Swada (Poland) will also perform. From the local scene, Isara, Lua, MalemIrish, Lichočar, Vrba, Vintage Wine, Emerald Shine, and other great bands will play.
To ensure everyone feels great – quality comes first
Midsummer Tunes strives to meet the diverse needs of visitors. “You won’t find typical festival stalls here. We mainly reach out to local producers who make really quality products,” explains Friš. “Traditionally, people can look forward to burgers from S láskou Karel or vegan and gluten-free cuisine from Manuji from Česká Lípa.” There will also be well-known drinks – the regularly awarded Jablonec brewery Volt, which will offer eight types of beer, or Hřebeč mead. Additionally, there will be barrels with drinking water available for free throughout the area.
