New additions are expanding the museum's collection of contemporary illusory, kinetic, and interactive art. Jonty Hurwitz presents two mirror anamorphoses, Echo and Rejuvenation in Bronze, inviting visitors to explore how shape, reflection, and perspective can transform our perception of reality. Florian Goerlitz has enriched the exhibition with the kinetic piece Infinity – an installation that introduces movement and technical precision into the growing collection of contemporary illusory art. Andrej Boleslavský contributed the digital work Liquid Mirror, whose surface reacts to external stimuli, examining the relationship between image, movement, and human perception. Thus, several moments unfold simultaneously on the surface of the mirror, intertwining with one another.
Since its opening in 2018, IAM Prague has become one of the most prominent museums in Prague in the field of interactive art. It uniquely combines optical illusions, Czech history, playful stories, and installations that directly engage the audience in the narrative. This year, the museum has already received the prestigious Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Award for the fifth time in a row, reflecting the consistently positive feedback from visitors. The newly presented works represent another step in the museum's broader ambition – to be not only a tourist attraction but also an active cultural space supporting artists, hosting social and cultural events, and providing new reasons for both domestic and foreign audiences to visit.
“In our museum, it has always been about wonder and discovering new perspectives,” stated Jakub Bechyně, co-owner and creative director. “These new works further deepen our mission. They show that illusory art can be technically sophisticated, intellectually rich, and at the same time immediately understandable and attractive to the public,” he adds.
The festive evening was attended by nearly 100 guests from the fields of culture, media, tourism, and creative industries. Visitors had the opportunity to view the newly unveiled works as well as the permanent exhibition.
The introduction of new exhibits is part of IAM Prague's long-term effort to continuously enrich the visitor experience. Recent and planned innovations fit into the museum's strategy to keep the exhibition lively and variable while strengthening its position among significant cultural and experiential institutions in Prague.
IAM Prague is open every day at Melantrichova 536/2, Prague 1. More information and tickets here.
