Get closer, experience more. The Signal Festival will introduce the Gallery Zone, which promises a unique experience at seven prestigious locations.

The Signal Festival is once again collaborating with leading cultural institutions this year and will offer visitors the opportunity to see installations at prestigious locations in Prague. A total of 22 installations will be presented along the routes of Hradčany and the Center, including 7 stops in the paid Gallery Zone. Works by prominent artists will be on display at the Riding School of Prague Castle, thanks to the Administration of Prague Castle, in the Sternberg and Schwarzenberg Palaces, managed by the National Gallery Prague, at Kunsthalle Prague, in the Clam-Gallas Palace featuring a performance by the Laterna Magika of the National Theatre, in the Baroque Refectory of the Dominican Monastery with an installation created in collaboration with the Ars Electronica festival, and at the Center for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP). The Gallery Zone is not a new feature of the festival; for 8 years, visitors have supported the purchase of tickets to ensure that most of the festival remains freely accessible to everyone. Tickets are available on the festival's website, and only with them can all 22 installations be seen over the course of 4 days.

„The mission of the Signal Festival is to make modern art accessible to as wide an audience as possible, including those who usually cannot afford to participate in similar events. We believe that art should be available to everyone, regardless of their financial means. By purchasing tickets, visitors help keep the festival partially free. At the same time, tickets provide them with the opportunity to see selected works in a calmer environment, without large crowds and queues. This way, modern art can reach a broad audience and offer unique experiences to everyone,“ says Martin Pošta, the festival director.

The gallery zone will present installations by leading Czech and international artists. Thanks to collaboration with the Administration of Prague Castle, South Korean artist Seohyo will connect the architecture of our metropolis with generative art in the Riding School of Prague Castle. Her projection Coded Tapestry: Prague reflects the rhythm of the city, inspired by Prague Castle and the mosaic of urban pavement.

Jiří Příhoda, one of the leading Czech artists, will exhibit three sculptural works at the Šternberský Palace of the National Gallery Prague. His installation, straddling architecture and sculpture, includes works Capriccio, an oval object UAPs utilizing artificial intelligence, and the experimental dwelling Karbola. Despite the static nature of the works, they evoke the illusion of movement through precise work with geometry, light, and shadow.

At the Schwarzenberg Palace of the National Gallery Prague, Michael Bielický and Kamila B. Richter will present the multimedia project Columbus 2.0, which transforms digital messages into waves of information surrounding the visitor. The theme refers to the challenges contemporary humans face in navigating the flood of information, similar to Columbus navigating unknown waters.

The exhibition Strange Attractions, created in collaboration with the Signal Festival and Kunsthalle Prague, explores the boundary between order and chaos. The British studio UVA (United Visual Artists), known for its collaboration with Massive Attack, manipulates audience perception through kinetic pendulums, LED panels, and laser projections. The result is an experience that connects the material with the immaterial and the visible with the invisible.

In the courtyard of the Clam-Gallas Palace, a dance performance Iron Horse: Fractured by Miřenka Čechová will take place in collaboration with Laterna magika. The audience will find themselves in the role of travelers on a platform, where they will catch glimpses of character stories as if watching a passing train.

In the Baroque refectory of the Dominican monastery, American artist Bill Fontana reminds us of the fragility of culture and climate. The founder of sound art connects the bells of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris with the sounds of glacial caves in Austria's Dachstein in the installation Silent Echoes. The work was created in collaboration with the foreign institution festival Ars Electronica and foreign institutions.

In CAMP, the Italian studio Quayola will present a series of videos Effets de Soir, capturing natural phenomena observable at dusk and dawn. These transitions of light and shadow were captured by the artist in the gardens of a French medieval castle using modern technologies. The foreign program of this year's Signal Festival is made possible by the support of the PPF Foundation.

The festival will offer access to 7 artworks in the fields of light design, visual and digital art, artificial intelligence, and conceptual art with one ticket. Tickets are available in two versions: Signal Plus allows repeated entry to all installations during the four days of the festival, while Signal VIP additionally provides benefits such as priority entry, guided tours with artists and curators, a welcome drink at Kunsthalle Prague, and transportation by Mercedes-Benz vehicles between Kunsthalle and Prague Castle. The program, routes, and further information will be presented by the festival in an online campaign in collaboration with Kooperativa. On social media, six video guides created by the agency Sweatshop will be published.
