WARM UP BY THE FIRE

The kitchen follows a simple philosophy: seasonal ingredients from smaller suppliers, with Czech traditions meeting international inspiration. Bistro Karel is known for its popular brunches, while winter dinners have an atmosphere of their own. Outside, warm up by the fire with a glass of homemade mulled wine.

The drinks menu features organic wines from Czech and international wineries, craft beers and, of course, excellent speciality coffee.

A TASTE OF PRAGUE TO TAKE HOME

Bistro Karel also has its own pantry shop, popular with locals and visitors looking for an authentic souvenir. Browse everything from local oils and coffee beans to natural cosmetics. During Advent, the bistro hosts a Christmas market with products from small local brands and designers on 19–20 December.

PRAGUE THAT FITS IN A SUITCASE

Czech glass, designer jewellery, original artwork or a fragrance created in Prague. A souvenir needn't recall famous landmarks; it can tell the story of today's city and the people who create here. Prague's best-known motifs appear almost everywhere. Still, the city's most interesting mementoes are often found a few streets away, in design shops, small galleries and local artists' studios. Here you can discover a Prague that draws on a strong craft tradition while interpreting it in a contemporary and sometimes surprisingly playful way.

The cult classic Lady on the Tracks comes to life at Fidlovačka in a new guise.

The first premiere of this year's theater season at Fidlovačka will be a new adaptation of the cult film musical "The Lady on the Tracks." The new version by Lukáš Pečenka plays with the original material and develops it with love and respect for contemporary audiences: alongside the now-classic melodies, several new songs by Petr Malásek with lyrics by Václav Kopta have been added. "The Lady on the Tracks" invites viewers on a journey (by tram) through the complex yet entertaining fate of a woman.
