On the weekend of October 31 – November 2, the VILA Štvanice Theater will belong to children!
You can look forward to a theater performance for the smallest as well as slightly larger audiences, an outdoor playground VILAmovánky, and a DIY workshop tailored to what you just saw in the theater. The weekend program will conclude with a concert specifically designed for the festival, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Friday from 16:30 - Opening of the exhibition at VILA Friday from 18:00 - Anger (Geisslers Hofcomoedianten) - PREMIERE 13+ A stage corrida from the cycle Virtues and Vices. No one cares what you feel. No one cares what you want. No one cares what annoys you. And inside, the scream grows. I have the right to feel anger! To destroy. To trample. To tear apart. To kill. To kill that feeling? To hate? To hate others? Yourself? Why? Somewhere in the middle of the labyrinth lurks a raging bull. Come look him in the eye. Saturday from 10:30 - Silly Honza is not stupid (Divadlo MáMe) - 5+ Honza likes to do things his own way. He is not afraid to be different from others. When everyone thinks he is a bit crazy, just - silly. Not being afraid to be a fool is one thing, but what about not being afraid of the dragon that comes to spread its reign of terror? Can Honza handle it? Of course he can. And even better, so can you. You can join in - however you want. Saturday from 13:00 - Baba Yaga and the Sword of Power (Puppets Without Borders) - 5+ An action puppet show inspired by Russian folk tales. The wise Baba Yaga, her sisters, and Koschei the Deathless guard the Sword of Power, the sacred guarantee of peace. But one day someone outsmarts Koschei, seizes the Sword, and cruel warfare begins. Who will put an end to this senseless bloodshed? Saturday from 15:00 - How to Pull Out Roots (Malé divadlo České Budějovice) - 14+ Sometimes a person feels like a stranger even where they should feel at home. Sometimes they are at home, and people look at them like they are a stranger. A true story inspired by the fate of Eliška Mesfin Boušková about finding oneself and how important it is to find your roots, even when it is sometimes as hard as pulling a big beet from the ground. Saturday from 17:00 - Small Strange Tales (Malé divadlo České Budějovice) - 8+ Once upon a time... In České Budějovice, there is a Small Theater, and in it, five differently tall actors in knitted socks tell small strange tales. The actors do not know in advance what they will be telling. The children who came to listen to the small strange tales choose the stories. And believe us, sometimes they wish to hear really very strange things. Sunday from 13:00 - Five Times Around the World (Tygr v tísni) - 6+ A family performance inspired by the adventures of traveler Barbora Markéta Eliášová, who set off on her first trip around the world in 1912. She traveled by train to Vladivostok, from where she sailed for three weeks by steamer to Japan. There she learned Japanese, ate with chopsticks, wore a kimono, and became the first European graduate of an ikebana course. Sunday from 17:00 - Gentlemen Musicians for VILOmenin's Birthday (Páni Muzikanti) A concert by the top cimbalom band Páni Muzikanti with a unique program for family audiences, specially for the final celebration of the 10th anniversary of VILOmenin. Songs you know, as you have never heard them before, storytelling, wishes. For dancing, listening, and amazement. Come get your piece of the VILOmenin birthday cake.
