The Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic will open permanent exhibitions of participating state museums and galleries for free every first Sunday of the month starting in September.
For the first time, visitors will be able to enter for free on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The Ministry of Culture is thus continuing the spring pilot project of free Sunday admissions and fulfilling another point of the government's program declaration in the area of accessible culture. Starting this year, everyone, regardless of age, can visit participating permanent exhibitions for free on the first Sunday of the month. Free admissions will take place on September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6, 2026. The same regime will continue in the following years. The aim is to make culture accessible to the widest possible audience and to give the public another opportunity to regularly visit museums and galleries. Free Sundays can be an opportunity to return to favorite places, explore permanent collections, or discover a museum or gallery that visitors have not yet visited. Before visiting, it is recommended to check the current opening hours and the range of accessible exhibitions on the specific museum or gallery's website. State museums and galleries in Prague and in the regions are participating in the program. Free admission applies to the permanent exhibitions in these venues:
