The Prague Museum Night will take place on June 13, 2026, at the Central Library and will be themed "the library behind the mirror."
Sometimes it’s enough to look in the mirror to see things, and perhaps even ourselves, a little differently. Just like that, during the Museum Night, the Central Library will present itself to you in the reflection of foil mirrors – both known and unknown at the same time. The evening program will not only be colorful but also lightly shrouded in mystery. Come and see for yourself!
Program:
Mysterious Walk through the Old Town
Where: Main entrance of the Central Library
When: 19:00
A guided walk will take you to places connected with Prague's legends. In ancient stories, you will meet the Iron Man or the tailor from the Green Frog house. Together we will also look at one of the narrowest houses in Prague and stop at the Church of Our Lady before Týn.

Unique Books You Won't Find Elsewhere – Book Exhibition
Where: Club Room
When: 19:00–23:00
During World War II, MKP was mandated to remove and destroy thousands of books by "undesirable" authors or with unwanted themes. Our librarians showed great courage – they did not destroy the books but bricked them up in the building's basement. Thus, they have survived to this day, and you can come to see the most interesting ones. The exhibition will feature works by Masaryk, literature by legionnaires, books published by our Sokol groups, as well as titles dealing with Freemasons or writers of Jewish descent. Often, these are unique items you won't find elsewhere.
Library and Guitar Tones
Where: Bay (space for educational literature)
When: 19:30–20:10 and 21:05–21:40
The evening will be enhanced by guitar music performed by Lucie Šťavíková. Thanks to dreamy and fiery tones, you will be transported to ancient times and various parts of the world. Both fans of classical repertoire and lovers of music from fairy tale films will enjoy it.
VR Stop

When: 19:00–23:00
Try virtual reality at the library! A station full of simple and fun applications awaits you, which both children and adults will enjoy – no prior experience is necessary. Just come and immerse yourself in a world of pure 3D fun.

The children's department of the Central Library will transform into a place full of little ghosts and spirits of all kinds during the evening. The youngest visitors can join an art workshop and create their own ghost or little spirit.
