Kandráčovci - 20 years on stage

Fans can look forward to an evening full of vibrant folk music, familiar melodies, and a celebration of the band's twenty years in the music scene.

Kandráčovci have been among the most popular interpreters of Slovak folk music for two decades. The group was founded in 2004 by the fiddler Ondřej Kandráč, who brought together experienced musicians from various folklore ensembles. Thanks to the combination of traditional folk music with a modern concert approach, the band has gained an audience across generations not only in Slovakia but also in the Czech Republic. The year 2025 was exceptional for Kandráčovci. The band celebrated 20 years in the music scene, for which they released a special album Kandráčovci 20, featuring twenty tracks that map their previous work. The anniversary is accompanied by a series of special concerts, including performances in Bratislava and this concert in Prague at Gauč on Výstaviště. Throughout their career, Kandráčovci have released several successful albums and have made their mark in the history of Slovak folk music with extraordinary awards. As the first folk music group in Slovakia, they received two platinum records for the albums A čija to chyža and Sinu muj. Their success continued with another platinum record for the album Oj, zabava, followed by popular titles like Dva duby and Sokoly, from which many songs are still performed today. The concert in Prague's Gauč will offer a retrospective of the band's twenty-year history. In addition to songs from the anniversary album, the biggest hits that have accompanied Kandráčovci since their beginnings will also be performed. Attendees can look forward to an evening full of virtuosic musical performances, folk music, energy, and the atmosphere that is characteristic of Kandráčovci's concerts.
