Since 2019, the Czech Geological Survey has been organizing a Geological Day for the public - an event for both young and old, where you can learn a lot about geology in science and practice and get a glimpse into the work of a geologist. At the Geological Day 2026, we will welcome those interested in geosciences on June 19-20 (Friday-Saturday) at the premises of the Czech Geological Survey in Prague's Klárov. Public event At the Geological Day, visitors can not only get acquainted with geology as a scientific discipline, but also try it out in practice - from discovering and processing geological samples and fossils, preparing geological maps, examining minerals under a microscope, utilizing the Earth's water and heat, panning for gold and heavy minerals, to modern technologies such as drones, satellite images, 3D models, virtual reality, and much more. A rich program for both young and old will take place on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20, at the premises of the Czech Geological Survey in Prague's Klárov in the historic building of the former Klárov Institute. As part of the event, the chapel of St. Raphael will also be accessible.
