The film Mr. Nobody against Putin offers a raw look at the workings of Russian propaganda.
Pasha lives in a small Russian town and is a popular teacher at the local elementary school. With the onset of the invasion of Ukraine, the nature of his work completely changes. He is forced to organize activities in accordance with the new wartime curriculum and document them on camera. The demands on teachers increase, Pasha's former students go off to the front, and the atmosphere in the town becomes tense. Frustrated, Pasha decides to fight in the way he knows best. He begins to film not only the state-mandated activities but also everyday life at school and beyond, aiming to show the world the impact of war and authoritarian regime on the local community. The film Mr. Nobody Against Putin provides a raw look at the workings of Russian propaganda and tells a gripping story of a man who decides to risk everything to stay true to his values.
