Christmas comes alive in Metropolis Zličín! The Nutcracker, St. Nicholas, and icy fun for the whole family.

The most magical holidays of the year are slowly approaching. Christmas is a time when miracles happen, and this year they will also take place in the Metropole Zličín shopping center. This year, the Nutcracker will come to life there, along with his entire fairy tale world. Throughout the Advent season, visitors can look forward to a program full of creativity, music, dance, skating, and above all, fun for the whole family.

New edition

Christmas in Metropolis Zličín will, as every year, be in grand style. The Christmas season will symbolically kick off with a big dance show on Saturday, November 22, at 5:30 PM, when the legendary Nutcracker comes to life right in the shopping center. The classic ballet performance will blend with elements of modern dance. The beloved actor Radim Fiala will guide the audience through the story. In the main roles will be Michal Štípa and Nikola Márová, soloists of the National Theatre ballet, who, along with other dancers, will transform the famous Christmas story into a living dream full of movement, light, and music.

“In Metropolis Zličín, we want visitors to take home not only gifts but especially beautiful memories. Every weekend, the magic of the Nutcracker comes alive, connecting families, creativity, and the joy of Christmas,” says the center's marketing director, Kateřina Keslová.

Advent in the Sign of the Nutcracker

As is tradition, every Advent weekend starting from November 29, a colorful creative program will await both small and large visitors, themed around the classic Christmas story. The first weekend, November 29 and 30, will feature a fragrant workshop where children can try painting gingerbread cookies with motifs from the Nutcracker. The second Advent weekend, December 6 and 7, will have a photo booth in the Metropolis Zličín shopping center where visitors can temporarily transform into a ballet dancer, a soldier, or the Mouse King.

The third, penultimate weekend will focus on preparations for decorating the Christmas tree – in a creative workshop, participants can make their own wooden ornaments. And to conclude Advent, there will be dancing everywhere! The dance workshop "The Dance Story of the Nutcracker" will teach children basic ballet and modern steps, allow them to try out a small choreography, and finally, each participant will take home a diploma.

St. Nicholas’ Gift and Fairytale Ice Skating

And of course, St. Nicholas cannot be missed. He will arrive at the Metropolis Zličín shopping center on Friday, December 5, along with a devil and an angel, all dressed in stylized costumes from the Nutcracker's world. The whole group will walk through the center, gladly distributing sweet rewards to the poems and songs. The day will culminate with St. Nicholas’ ice skating on the ice rink.

Visitors can come to skate just for fun. The rink has been prepared for them since November 8, located between entrances 2 and 3. There is a rental service, courses for children from 3 years old, and the possibility of renting for schools and companies. And after skating? Hot punch, tea, or a sweet treat accompanied by Christmas music.

Stylishly and Practically

The Nutcracker takes over the entire shopping center, not just during the Advent weekends. The central square is adorned with the Nutcracker's village, and there will also be a Nutcracker throne with nuts, an ideal spot for festive photographs.

Practical joys await adults too. Shopping in Metropolis will be accompanied by Christmas stalls with goodies and the option to have gifts wrapped in decorative paper and ribbons right in the shopping center.

Christmas in Metropolis Zličín is not just about shopping, but mainly about experiences. About moments when time stands still, lights illuminate, and the magic of the holidays reflects in children's eyes. Come and enjoy an Advent experience like no other – with the Nutcracker, St. Nicholas, and icy fun. Because right here, the most beautiful Christmas stories come to life.
