Prague Film Orchestra
The Prague Film Orchestra is a symphonic body founded by conductor Jiří Korynta and Zdeňka Koryntová in 2004, which has specialized throughout its existence in concert performances of film, television, musical, popular, and video game music.
The orchestra, led by conductor Jiří Korynta, has always emphasized maximum authenticity in the performance of individual pieces and their emotions without the use of film projections. Additionally, it invites choirs to collaborate on its larger performances.
In its extensive and constantly expanding repertoire, which includes several hundred titles, works by renowned world composers of film music such as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Bernard Hermann, Howard Shore, Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, John Powell, David Arnold, Ennio Morricone, Michael Giacchino, James Horner, and many others can be found.
During each season, the orchestra performs in concert halls, cultural centers, and cinemas in regional cities across the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where it organizes its concerts or collaborates with organizing agencies. Concurrently, it is also invited to public and private events.
