České Budějovice, February 28 – Popeyes is heading to South Bohemia. A new restaurant will open in a few weeks at the IGY center, the largest shopping center in České Budějovice and throughout South Bohemia, within walking distance of the historic city center. This is also the first time the chain is opening a branch in a shopping center.

The new restaurant will be located on the first floor of the department store, in the food court, where visitors can choose from more than 20 restaurants. For lovers of Louisiana flavors, there will be 64 seats available. The first customers will be able to taste the iconic Chicken Sandwich, which had people queuing in Prague for over a month, for free, while the usual competition for a Chicken Sandwich for a whole year will take place on the Czech Popeyes' social media.

This is the first time that Czech Popeyes is heading to a shopping center in České Budějovice. “We want to be closer to our customers. České Budějovice is one of the largest cities in the Czech Republic, a tourist destination, and also a university city with thousands of students,” explains Marko Blaževič, who oversees Popeyes in Poland and Romania in addition to the Czech market, and continues: “A restaurant in a shopping center is much easier to build, so I believe that this year we will at least double the number of our restaurants.”

Currently, there are four Popeyes restaurants in the Czech Republic, and this one in South Bohemia and the first in Brno are set to open in a few weeks, which will be among the largest in Europe along with the one in Wenceslas Square. This year, Popeyes plans to enter other regions as well, with several projects in smaller cities nearing completion, and a standalone Drive Thru restaurant is also in preparation. By 2033, there are plans to open 60 Popeyes restaurants in the Czech Republic.

HackFood: Functional honeys created at the intersection of nature and research

The HackFood brand was born from the belief that the true functionality of food does not arise from isolating individual substances, but from understanding their natural connections. In an environment where it is common to extract a single molecule, standardize it, and add it to a neutral base, HackFood represents the opposite approach. Honey is not reduced to a sweetener, but is understood as a complex biological matrix with its own functional potential.
