The cult favorite Five Guys is finally in the Czech Republic. The first restaurant will open on December 8 in the center of Prague.

The world-famous premium hamburger chain Five Guys is finally entering the Czech Republic. It is opening its first Czech branch in the iconic Máj shopping center in the heart of Prague on Národní street. The restaurant will welcome guests for the first time on Monday, December 8.

New edition

The company Five Guys was founded in 1986 in Arlington, Virginia, and has built a cult status among burger lovers worldwide. The brand's philosophy is simple: fresh and high-quality ingredients, no freezers, and unlimited flavor combination options. Each burger and milkshake is prepared only after an order is placed, with maximum emphasis on freshness and the individual taste preferences of the customer, so they can enjoy a unique experience.

“We are excited to finally introduce Five Guys to Czech customers,” says Martin Levec, the Operations Director of Five Guys for the Czech Republic, adding “Carefully selected ingredients, no freezers, and no compromises. This is the foundation of the Five Guys philosophy. Everything is prepared only from fresh products. We exclusively collaborate with approved suppliers who deliver meat, vegetables, and potatoes to us every morning in the best possible condition. We believe that this iconic brand will quickly win the hearts of Czech burger fans.”

The new restaurant in the Máj department store on Národní street will offer the classic Five Guys concept: hand-prepared burgers made from fresh ingredients, each customized to the order. Guests will see the entire preparation process thanks to the open kitchen. The menu will also feature fresh French fries cut daily on-site and milkshakes with the option to combine flavors freely.

Part of the experience will also include free peanuts. Customers can enjoy them while waiting briefly for their freshly prepared burger. The restaurant will thus bring the authentic atmosphere of Five Guys that fans know worldwide.

“Opening the first restaurant in the Máj department store, at the iconic address in the heart of Prague, is the perfect opportunity for us to introduce the brand to Czech customers. And where else should the first Five Guys be than right here. We are glad that we can finally offer an experience that people love all over the world,” says Martin Klán, who is behind the arrival of Five Guys in the Czech Republic.

The restaurant, covering 250 m² with a total food court capacity of 600 seats, is ready to welcome all fans of legendary burgers starting December 8.

The Story of the Five Guys Brand

Five Guys is a family concept focused on burgers and fries, offering the possibility to customize a burger and menu exactly according to the individual preferences of the customer. The brand was created in the Washington D.C. area in 1986 when Jerry and Janie Murrell gave their sons two options: go to college or start their own business. The second option won, and thus the first small burger delivery restaurant was created in Arlington, Virginia. Under their leadership, the business quickly gained devoted fans and became a phenomenon.

Today, decades after opening the first location, Five Guys has more than 1,950 restaurants across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia - while still maintaining the same commitment to quality and freshness.

Commitment to Quality

The Murrell brothers changed the way burgers can be perceived around the world. The principle of Five Guys is freshness and quality - no freezers, no microwaves, no compromises. Every burger and every fry is prepared fresh every day.

Burgers - Made exclusively from the highest quality fresh ingredients. Each beef patty is hand-shaped with the ideal fat ratio of 80/20, free from preservatives, hormones, and antibiotics. The buns are baked daily according to a secret recipe and toasted on a special grill.

Hot dogs - Made from 100% beef, split lengthwise and grilled to golden perfection. They can be topped with melted American cheese, crispy smoked bacon – or both.

French fries - Hand-cut daily, fried in peanut oil, and prepared in the “boardwalk” style - crispy on the outside, with a tender potato inside. Available in classic or spicy Cajun.

Milkshakes - The base is a creamy vanilla mix that guests can customize from more than 100 ingredient combinations. Try, for example, crispy bacon bits, fresh bananas, strawberries, or Lotus Biscoff cookies!
