Ungelt Theatre is celebrating 30 years of its existence!

The celebrations of this significant anniversary began in the autumn and will culminate on October 2, exactly 30 years since the stage was opened by Miloš Kopecký and the founder, now emeritus principal Milan Hein. Since then, the theater has presented nearly 90 premieres and a plethora of great actors have graced its stage. Four of them have received the Thálie Award – Alena Vránová, Marta Kubišová, Vilma Cibulková, and Richard Krajčo.

New edition

A special website was created for the anniversary, mapping 30 milestones in the history of Ungelt – from the first steps and trips, through the development of the Summer Stage to the most significant productions. The anniversary season also brought several novelties. The biggest surprise is the return of Bára Poláková to the theater stage after ten years. Together with Mark Adamczyk, she forms a duo in the British comedy Date with a Feminist, which cleverly plays with clichés of romantic stories. The crazy parody of the romantic comedy genre is sold out at the Stone Stage, and only a few tickets remain for the Summer Stage.

This year, the Czech premiere of the black comedy The Bench with Miroslav Hanuš and Petr Stach will also take place there. The premiere will therefore take place in this picturesque setting of Nový Svět under the Hradčany, with comfortable facilities and a covered auditorium.

The program of the Summer Stage includes popular titles such as All Wonderful Things with Richard Krajčo, Take a Breath of Life with Tereza Brodská and Jitka Smutná, or the comedy Trouts with Alena Mihulová, Pavel Liška, and Jaromír Dulava.

Like last year, the theater is organizing a charity evening for the Paraple Center. On June 25, the performance Double with Bára Hrzánová and Jaromír Dulava will be dedicated to the “parapleťáci”. The entire proceeds, which Ungelt will also double, will go directly to them – last year the theater donated a total of one million crowns.

Although the city has already shifted into the cool autumn, Margot, known for its unmistakable taste of coconut, rum, and chocolate, turned its slogan "This is what a holiday tastes like" into reality. On Prague's Štvanice Island, it set up the largest hammock in the world, covering an area of over 230 m², comparable to a tennis court. Instead of clay courts and forehands, relaxation was served here. The record-breaking hammock was officially confirmed on-site by a Guinness World Records commissioner who traveled all the way from London for the event. Margot thus made its entry into the world record book and brought a holiday atmosphere to Prague like never before. The newly introduced Margot MINI bar then demonstrated that even with the mini version, you can experience the maximum holiday enjoyment.
