Enjoy winter with the Museum of the Valašsko Region.

The monument from the 17th century, due to its location above the city center, is one of the dominant features of Vsetín. When visiting, don't miss the Templar cellar with the knight's gaming room or the Aquarium of the Bečva River, which is part of the natural science exhibition in the tower. The castle is attracting visitors at the turn of the year 2024-25 with exhibitions like the Museum of the Century, Glass Fish Created, and Inspiration from Indigo Printing. Public programs invite you to Advent Magic on Sunday, December 8, Spring Break with the museum (February 25-28), and the Castle Carnival (March 2).

Vsetín Observatory (open on weekdays from 9 AM to 3 PM)

Since 2005, the Vsetín Observatory has been part of the Museum of the Valašsko Region. We recommend that larger groups register in advance at phone number 737 211 819. Every Friday evening, regular observations of the night sky take place.

The monument in the Empire style is located at Zámecká No. 3, near the main road leading from Valašské Meziříčí towards Hranice. If you are arriving from the roundabout at the intersection of Rožnovská, Vsetínská, and Nádražní streets, turn right onto Krásenská street after 100 m, then left through Záhumení until you reach Zámecká street. Coming from Hranice, turn right 100 m before the mentioned roundabout, and you will find yourself right at the castle with barrier-free access.

The Kinský Castle is not a classic castle with historical rooms, but a museum that offers a wealth of experiences and interesting knowledge. The main attraction is the permanent exhibition "Man in the Landscape, Landscape in Man." Visitors walk through rooms representing different epochs of history and observe how the relationship between humans and the surrounding nature has changed. At the end of November, the exhibition "Valašské Vánoce" (Valašsko Christmas) started, which will be replaced by the exhibition "Traces of Genius" in early February 2025.
