Enjoy Christmas Prague in a different way!

Prague attracts thousands of people every year to one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Europe. To get into the festive spirit and enjoy the scent of mulled wine or to buy handmade products, many people head to the capital. However, Christmas in Prague doesn't have to be just about the markets, which often burst at the seams with the influx of tourists. Christmas in Prague: What Not to Miss?

Prague is a fairy-tale destination for lovers of Christmas, filled with lights, scents, and Christmas concerts everywhere. The capital is also known for its beautiful and unique markets that enchant even those who have not yet succumbed to the Christmas spirit. So where to go and what not to miss to experience true Prague Christmas?

Magical markets with classic wooden stalls take place in various squares across Prague. Probably the most beautiful is the traditional market at the Old Town Square, which is the heart of Christmas celebrations. The square during the Advent period resembles a fairy-tale village full of lights and festive music. The charming stalls offer a rich selection of handmade products, typical Czech delicacies, and gifts, dominated by a beautiful Christmas tree. Every evening, concerts are held here, adding a unique atmosphere to the place.

Beautiful markets can be found throughout Prague: at Republic Square, Wenceslas Square, Peace Square, and many others. An integral part of Prague's Advent is also Christmas in Malá Strana, which culminates on Christmas Eve with traditional caroling under Charles Bridge.

Beer Prague (not only) at Christmas

Between shopping at the Advent markets, strolling in the frosty weather, and the Christmas program at Prague Castle, it's time to take a moment to pause. And what could be better than an extraordinary experience combined with a perfectly poured pint of Pilsner lager in the center of Prague?

Take a break from the Christmas hustle and uncover the secrets of great beer with friends at the Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience, where you will enjoy plenty of fun and learn many interesting facts about beer. Or embark on a journey through beer history with the interactive exhibition The Original Tour, which tells the story of the creation of the world's first golden lager and reveals the secrets of the production processes of Pilsner Urquell. You can end your busy day with a tasting dinner with a beer sommelier, offering a great opportunity to expand your beer horizons. This tasting menu consists of five courses, each carefully paired with beers from around the world.

Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience is also the perfect place to warm up and enjoy a moment of peace. You can sit here for a while, savor a properly poured Pilsner, or enjoy something tasty to nibble on.

Traditional and Unconventional Gifts for Everyone!

The Advent markets are also a place where many people love to buy small gifts for their loved ones, crafts, and Christmas decorations. Classic items at the stalls include various types of Christmas goods, such as mistletoe, candles and candle holders, wooden toys, ornaments, nativity scenes, or artisanal products. The markets at Prague's Exhibition Grounds are dedicated to traditional products from Czech glassmakers, blacksmiths, knife makers, and weavers. Design lovers should not miss markets like Mint Market, LeMarket, or PragueMarket.

However, you don’t have to go only to the Advent markets for creative Christmas gifts. Right next door, at Wenceslas Square, you will find the largest Pilsner Urquell branded store in Prague as part of the Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience, where you can take home unique Christmas gifts that you won’t find anywhere else in Prague. You can give your loved ones or friends an unforgettable shared experience, whether in the form of the interactive exhibition The Original Tour, the School of Tapping, or a gourmet experience at the Dinner with a Beer Sommelier.

A great gift (not only) for beer lovers includes personalized bottles or special engraved pint glasses. You can design the pint glass yourself, whether it’s a text message or abstract patterns. Additionally, you can also purchase other original gifts, such as beer socks, hats, bottle openers, cufflinks, and even snow globes.

Whether Christmas for you is more about experiences, gifts, or a magical atmosphere, festive Prague will definitely not disappoint you.

FOR OLD MOBILE TO ZOO PRAGUE

Prague Zoo has prepared a special event for schoolchildren during the autumn holidays. Every child under 15 who hands in their old mobile phone for recycling at the main entrance will gain entry to the zoo on Friday, January 30, for just one koruna. The mining of rare metals like niobium and tantalum, which are key for mobile phone production, contributes to the deforestation of Central African rainforests. By recycling them, the pressure on local inhabitants – including pangolins, elephants, and gorillas – is reduced. Additionally, the Prague gorillas will have a special program on Friday.
