Lumia Gallery presents a new installation "Primal Ritual" and continues to expand its digital space.

Lumia Gallery, a Prague gallery focused on contemporary digital art, continues to grow and brings another artistic installation that pushes the boundaries of perception. This time, it adds the work "Primal Ritual" to its space, which combines advanced technologies with natural principles and offers visitors a deep interactive experience.

New edition

The new installation, created by artist Ondřej Ševčík, connects the worlds of art, science, and nature. The work utilizes the Primal Ritual Environment Enhancer (PREE), which allows for the creation of living light structures that respond to the movements of visitors, the shapes of objects, and light sources. These fascinating fractal patterns transport viewers into a magical world where all things are interconnected.

“Primal Ritual” draws on a long tradition of rituals and evokes the power of fire and its hypnotic energy. This interactive installation enables visitors to directly influence the light structures through a control panel, which evoke natural forms – from trees and clouds to star clusters and flames.

Ondřej Ševčík, the artist and author of the installation, who has been engaged with digital optical feedback technologies since 2003, presents “Primal Ritual” as a gateway to the symbolic world of infinity. The work not only highlights the aesthetic beauty of fractals but also their therapeutic potential, which positively influences the human psyche and can bring calmness to bustling urban environments.

Lumia Gallery continues to expand its exhibition spaces with this installation, enriching the offering of digital art in the Czech Republic. After the completion of the expansion, the gallery will span 1400 m² and will feature 24 installations that connect technology with art. In addition to an interactive entertainment area with digital art, the gallery will also introduce a new floor focused on visual installations with deeper conceptual implications.
