November doesn't have to be just about commuting between work and home. In Prague's galleries, you can combine a short stop while traveling through the city with a longer afternoon among the paintings. We have selected six exhibitions of various moods and prices: from photography with free admission to contemporary Czech painting, and even art connected with music. Some are just opening, while others are only available for a few more days.
1. Igor Malijevský: thirty years in photographs, free admission
Gallery 1 has included the exhibition Photography 1996–2026 by Igor Malijevský for November. It is a natural choice for visitors who prefer photography over painting and are looking for a cultural stop without an entrance fee. Also, mark your calendar for the opening on November 3 at 6 PM. The exhibition itself starts the following day.
When: November 4–27, 2026. Where: Gallery 1, Prague 1. Admission: free. Open on weekdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM; closed on weekends and public holidays.

2. Václava Zouplnová: paintings and drawings at the New Town Hall
The gallery on the ground floor of the town hall will present paintings and drawings by Václava Zouplnová. According to the curatorial introduction, the artist explores natural scenery and existential themes, inviting viewers to look beneath the surface. This tip may appeal to visitors who want to take a moment to escape the hustle and bustle of Karlovo náměstí and focus on the painting itself.
When: November 5–29. Where: New Town Hall, Karlovo náměstí 1/23, gallery on the ground floor, entrance from the passage from Vodičkova Street. Admission: 50 CZK, reduced 20 CZK, family 100 CZK. Open Tue–Sun 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, with a thirty-minute break between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.

3. Klára Sedlo: into the world of Jessica Fogbow
In the tower gallery of the same town hall, a different mood will open on November 6. How to Wake Up from Nightmares – A Guide by Jessica Fogbow brings back the author's alter ego and its story. Over fifty works will include oil paintings, installations, collages, and drawings. Surreal motifs are accompanied by humor and exaggeration; thus, the two town hall exhibitions can be combined into one afternoon.

4. Faust at DOX: last week to visit
Don't leave the exhibition by Radka Bodzewicz until the last weekend of the month: it ends on November 8. The painter turns to Goethe's Faust and opens questions about the desire for knowledge, power, and crossing one's own boundaries through her paintings. For readers who enjoy the connection between literature and visual art, this is a good reason to head to Holešovice at the beginning of the month.

When: until November 8, 2026. Where: DOX, Poupětova 1, Prague 7. Open Tue–Sun 11:00 AM–7:00 PM, closed on Mondays.

5. David Tibet: when a musician creates his own visual world
The founder of Current 93 may be known to listeners from the experimental music scene. The exhibition Hallucinate, Children at DOX presents his visual work throughout his career as a distinctive world, not just a mere accompaniment to his records. Drawings and paintings connect dreamlike images, literature, and spiritual imagination. Compared to Faust, this exhibition has a longer duration, so a visit can be planned for the end of November as well.
When: October 23, 2026 – April 4, 2027. Where: DOX, Poupětova 1. Both exhibitions mentioned here can be visited with a combined ticket for the current exhibitions: adults 360 CZK, students and seniors 65+ 200 CZK, family 720 CZK. Children aged 7–15 150 CZK, free for those under 6.

How to plan your visit
For a quick stop on a weekday, choose Gallery 1. At the New Town Hall, you can connect the ground floor with the tower; however, different admission fees apply for both exhibitions. At DOX, it's worth taking your time and using a combined ticket for multiple exhibitions. Our guideline is half an hour to an hour for the smaller gallery and approximately two hours for more exhibitions at DOX.
