Jablonec (full) is sparkling!

This year, the Jablonec Museum of Glass and Costume Jewelry will also join the program of the summer city celebrations Jablonecká Perle. Museum Day will offer a unique festival of experiences for the whole family on Friday, August 22, in the spirit of creativity, craftsmanship, and quality outdoor entertainment.

New edition

From 4 PM, the museum park will come alive with activities mainly aimed at families with children. "Together we will illuminate the park with sparkling chandelier ornaments, which were donated to us for this day by Preciosa," invites director Milada Valečková to the happening under the open sky. The next workshop will offer the popular decoration of glasses using the sandblasting technique with artist Daniela Divišová; naturally, there will be a museum beading station where all visitors can prepare symbolic "bead tickets" for the main Saturday program at the Upper Square.

Especially for children, there will be an afternoon performance by the fantastic baby punk band Kašpárek v rohlíku on the summer stage of Eurocentre. "The band's musical style is called baby punk. However, it has little in common with classic punk, as it is primarily aimed at children. It is musically and lyrically playful, with quirky songs that offer both a fresh perspective on the world through children's eyes and original insights from the adult world," you can read about the band on their website.

Following them will be the unconventional duo Flaškinet with their unique music played on glass bottles, which they even showcased this year at the world exhibition EXPO in Osaka, Japan. And those who want to try this skill can participate in their workshop in the park after the performance. The musical program on the summer stage will culminate in a concert by the fantastic dance orchestra Big'O'Band.

The day in the museum park will then symbolically conclude with a glass exhibition by Zdeněk Kunc, which will transport the audience into the world of fire and glass. The conclusion of this experience-filled day will be an audiovisual show full of light effects. And because the Jablonec Perle is also a festival of good food, the entire program will be complemented by delicacies of various kinds.

The museum will be open for free on Friday from 4 PM to 9 PM, offering unconventional tours under artificial lighting. The museum stand will also be present on Saturday at the Upper Square, where the main part of the festival will take place. Among other things, visitors will be invited to visit their premises at a discounted entry fee.

The Friday program of Jablonec Perle 2025 is organized and financially secured by the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou. The main organizer of the entire festival is the statutory city of Jablonec nad Nisou, which has entrusted the organization to its contributory organization Kultura Jablonec.
