Come to the guided tour of the exhibition Genghis Khan with its author Helena Heroldová.
Do you want to learn more about who Genghis Khan was or how the Great Mongol Empire, the second largest empire in history, was formed? Who were the Asian Huns and the Orkhon Turks? How did the nomadic way of life influence Mongolian warfare? And which Czech archaeologist made a name for himself in the history of Mongolian archaeology with his findings? Come to a guided tour of the exhibition on Genghis Khan with its author Helena Heroldová. The exhibition covers more than fifteen hundred years of Mongolian history. In the first part, you will learn about the nomadic way of life and the first empires on Mongolian territory in the first millennium AD. The next part is dedicated to the personality of Genghis Khan and his lineage. The third part presents the rise of the Great Mongol Empire in the early 13th century and the states that emerged within it. The space is dedicated to the military strategy and tactics of the Mongolian armies, but there is also an emphasis on cultural and trade exchanges within the Great Mongol Empire and on contacts with Europe.
