Let yourself be guided through a unique exhibition in the Historical Building of the National Museum.
Do you want to learn more about who Genghis Khan was or how the Great Mongol Empire, the second largest empire in history, came into being? Who were the Asian Huns and the Orkhon Turks? How did the nomadic way of life influence Mongolian warfare? And which Czech archaeologist made a mark in the history of Mongolian archaeology with his findings? Come to the guided tour of the exhibition Genghis Khan, which takes place at the National Museum. The exhibition covers more than one thousand five hundred years of Mongolian history. In the first part, you will learn about the nomadic way of life and the first empires on Mongolian territory in the first millennium AD. The next part is dedicated to the personality of Genghis Khan and his lineage. The third part presents the emergence of the Great Mongol Empire in the early 13th century and the states that arose within it. The space is dedicated to the military strategy and tactics of Mongolian armies, but there is also an emphasis on cultural and trade exchanges within the Great Mongol Empire and contacts with Europe.
