JHARNA-KALA: The fountain art of Sri Chinmoy in the baroque heart of Prague

Enjoy an exceptional combination of art, colors, silence, and beauty in one of the most enchanting baroque gardens in Prague. The Jharna-Kala: Fountain Art of Sri Chinmoy exhibition showcases the work of Indian philosopher, poet, musician, and artist Sri Chinmoy (1931–2007), who created his own original artistic style called Jharna-Kala – "Fountain Art." His abstract meditative paintings and drawings were created spontaneously, inspired by the deep silence of meditation and inner experience. The result is artwork filled with light, color, energy, and harmony. The exhibition invites not only an artistic experience but also a moment of pause and tranquility in the midst of the bustling center of Prague. What can you expect? In the historic Gothic halls, you will see, for example, the World Harmony cycle, which was exhibited at the United Nations during the International Year of Culture of Peace, a colorful series Messages for Humanity, or a rare collection of thirteen Chinese scrolls from 2005, which are presented in Prague for the very first time. In the gallery inside the Vrtba Garden, a collection of original drawings Dream-Freedom-Peace-Birds, poetic birds symbolizing freedom and the soul, will also be exhibited. These works were presented in 2006 at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. The exhibition is held under the patronage of Indian conductor Debashish Chaudhuri in the spirit of the timeless message Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – "The world is one human family." Martin Kemp, a professor of art history at the University of Oxford and a leading world expert on Leonardo da Vinci, said of Sri Chinmoy's work: "His art is extraordinary and completely unique. It resembles nothing I have seen before."
