Photos of the winners of the 30th Czech Press Photo are again at the National Museum!
This year, eight photographic categories were announced. A total of 256 photographers entered the competition, submitting over four and a half thousand photographs. The exhibition of the winning and other selected photographs from the 30th edition of the Czech Press Photo competition is organized in collaboration with the National Museum in the spaces of the New Building. The exhibition will showcase awarded images and other selected photographs that characterize the past year. A total of over 500 printed photographs and more than 250 images on screens and projections from eighty authors will be on display. The exhibition will also feature a rich accompanying program. This year, the Czech Photo Junior was announced for young authors from primary and secondary schools, who submitted nearly 1,500 photographs. The works of young authors will be displayed both in the National Museum and in a larger format in a unique outdoor exhibition in front of the Fragment Gallery in Karlín.

CHARLESTON: A PRAGUE CLASSIC THAT HAS BEEN WITH US FOR AN INCREDIBLE 30 YEARS
Charleston, a legendary establishment in the heart of Karlín, is celebrating an impressive 30 years of existence this year. The restaurant, which has been enchanting guests for three decades with its faithful homage to the 1930s, is much more than just a gastronomic experience. It is a return to old Prague, when every establishment had its own character and customers could feel at home within them.
Kunsthalle Prague presents the program for the year 2025.
In its third year of existence, Kunsthalle Praha welcomed again more than 100,000 visitors. It enters 2025 with the audience-successful exhibition Chiharu Shioty: Restless Souls and a plan for five more exhibitions. Among them will also be a showcase of the finalists of the Czech Grand Design annual awards with an authorial interpretation by the artistic duo SHOTBY.US. In three galleries of the architecturally acclaimed building, a number of artistic names will be presented to the Czech audience for the first time. The key exhibition will be "And Nothing Will Divide Us," the first joint presentation of Anna-Eva Bergman and Hans Hartung, a pioneering couple of abstract art from the first half of the 20th century. The internationally recognized artist Roman Ondak and the New York-based artistic duo Kristyna and Marek Milde will also have their Czech institutional premieres.
SIR HOTELS WILL OPEN THE FIRST CZECH BRANCH SIR PRAGUE
The Amsterdam hotel chain Sir Hotels proudly announces the opening of Sir Prague, the first branch of this brand in the Czech Republic, which will take place on March 17. The hotel is located in the vibrant Prague district of New Town, near the famous Dancing House and the Vltava River. Spread over five floors of a historic building on Náplavní Street, it will offer its future guests accommodation in 76 rooms.
Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance and Jules Maxwell will bring the breathtaking show Burn to Prague.
"Her best album in many years," writes the website Louder Than War about the album Burn, which Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) recorded together with Irish composer Jules Maxwell. Both will now come to Prague to present this unique recording live and promise a sonically massive and visually breathtaking experience.
Erdogan Atalay's stage will be Prague. The actor from the popular Cobra 11 will meet fans and introduce a new comedy.
The 58-year-old German actor of Turkish descent, Erdogan Atalay, known to domestic audiences as the tireless and seemingly immortal Commissioner Semir Gerkhan from the popular series Cobra 11, is heading to Prague. He will present a new Czech comedy Without Underwear, in which he starred, and on Monday, February 3rd, at 4:00 PM, he will meet fans at the Cinema City Chodov during a "Meet and greet" event.
