Bistro Karel is celebrating its 3rd birthday.

Dance, an evening of natural wines, and communal help: Bistro Karel invites you to a week-long celebration of its third anniversary.

The Trojan bistro with a wild garden, which attracts customers from all corners of the country as well as tourists from abroad, will celebrate its third anniversary in August. To celebrate, it invites the public, and the festivities will take place all week from August 18 to 23. The program will include a dance party, an evening with natural wines, and a charity collection in collaboration with the Tereza Maxová Foundation for children. All week: Collection to help children who have become victims of abuse Bistro Karel & Tereza Maxová Foundation for children Throughout the event, bistro visitors can financially support the "Cesta z pekla" (Path out of Hell) project, which helps child victims of abuse. How? Just enjoy a benefit oat cappuccino or contribute any amount via a QR code in the bistro or on its website. With the support of brands Oatly (oat milk) and Father’s Coffee Roastery (coffee roastery), Bistro Karel will donate all proceeds from the sale of oat cappuccinos to the Tereza Maxová Foundation for children to support the project. August 20: Evening with natural wines from 6:00 PM Bistro Karel & Alma Wines The rising popularity of natural wines can be traced throughout Prague. At Bistro Karel, which has exclusively served natural wines since day one, there is an increasing interest every year. Therefore, we can look forward to a natural evening, where a wine stand from Alma Wines will appear in the garden, and customers will be able to taste wines from both Czech and foreign wineries while chatting with winemaker Martin Grombíř from the popular Slovácké winery Podkovné. August 22: Garden dance party from 4:00 PM Of course, there will be a birthday party with dancing. On Saturday, DJ David Štěrbáček from Radio 1 will get the bistro's garden dancing. The event will be suitable for the whole family, and as a gift for the bistro's customers, entry will be completely free. The story of Bistro Karel: From an empty house to a place you must see. In the beginning, there was an empty house in the grounds of the Troja Castle and a neglected garden full of grass and weeds. Friends Karolína Pomahač and Elena Skala (from whose first names the name Karel was derived) sensed a strong genius loci and decided to bring this place to life. They called in ANNY Architects studio for the interior design and planted the garden themselves with their team. After months of preparatory work, during which they also found an investor for the beginnings, they opened Bistro Karel on August 16, 2023, in a trial operation. Karolína and Elena had a clear vision from the start: slow dining, a Mediterranean atmosphere, seasonal ingredients, natural wines, their own bakery... Some things could be realized immediately, while others needed to be built gradually. But guests fell in love with the place from the very first weeks. The week-long celebration is a way to thank everyone who has ever visited Karel.
